The Center for Higher University Studies (Centro de Altos Estudios Universitarios, CAEU) is an institutional development of the OEI, created in 2008, to promote technical cooperation strategies in the field of higher education, human resources training, and dissemination of the educational thought. The CAEU currently works on two complementary rationales:
- The "Ibero-American" courses are based on an open call on the web through its four schools: education, science, culture, and cooperation. More than fifty courses are offered in a variety of formats, duration, costs, and strategies.
- The “massive” demand-oriented training is a new modality of technical cooperation that is directly linked to the priorities of the public administration of the countries. The main goal of this modality is the continuous training of teachers and public employees.
